FAQ

1. What should we know and follow for a smooth trip and pleasant experience?

    • Meetup location and time: Ottawa Mosque 251 Northwestern Ave, Friday, December 22nd. Arrive at 6:00 am before Fajr prayers for proper registration. Fajr prayer will be around 6:30 am. 
    • Show your order confirmation email before boarding the bus.
    • Bus departs for Toronto at 7:30 am EST sharp
    • Jumu'ah is held at 12pm at the convention center, to get your RIS wristband proceed with the hotel check-in.
    • Please wait with everyone for the organizers to get your tickets and proceed with the check-ins.
    • Please bring a credit card with you, in case it is needed at the hotel. Read question 4 if no one has a credit card in hand.
    • After proper check-in you can head over to Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), a 14 min walk away from the hotel. See directions below.
    • Convention will start after Jummua on Friday and end at 10pm on Sunday.
    • Check-out will be on Monday, December 25th, at 11am. Let's all meet at the lobby to gather and wait for everyone. 
    • Bus will depart from Toronto at 12pm sharp. Expected arrival is 5:30pm at OMA parking lot in Ottawa insha'Allah.

    2. Is food included during the hotel stay?

    • No. But expect a food court at RIS!

    3. How many bags/luggage can I bring with me?

    • Maximum of 1 carry-on of the following dimensions: 22" x 14" x 9"

    4. No one in my room has a credit card to leave at the front desk for check-in. What should we do?

    • Don't worry. Let one of the trip organizers know (find them in person, call, text, or use the Telegram group chat to contact them). They will be able to sort it out for you.

    7. How many people will be joining this caravan?

    • Around 112

    8. Is anyone welcome to purchase a package?

    • Yes! If you bring a child/minor, don't forget you are fully responsible for their care. 

    9. I lost my pass to get to the convention. What should I do?

    • Contact the trip organizers to fix the issue as soon as possible. Find them in person, call, text, or use the Telegram group chat to contact them.

    10. I lost my hotel room key? What should I do?

    • Let the hotel's front desk know. For any additional help, contact the trip organizers. Find them in person, call, text, or use the Telegram group chat to contact them.

    11. How do we stay updated with the organizers?

    12. I need to cancel my ticket and would like a refund. How do I go about it?

    • To Request a refund, email faithspaceottawa@gmail.com No Refund will be issued after Dec 8th 2023. Refund is subject to transactional costs. If you will have someone else on the bus/hotel in your stead, please inform us ASAP. 
    • We will open a waitlist once the tickets sell out, and it will close on Dec 12th.

    13. The price is quite high.

    • We understand how it may seem that way. But the prices or the convention tickets, the stay at the hotel and the bus fare are all discounted and cheaper than the competitive prices around.
    • Per example, a room in downtown Toronto is minimum $79 a night. Meanwhile, our hotel room price is as low as $50 a night.
    • The admission tickets are also priced at $50 for all instead of the original price of $62.15 for students and $73.45 for adults. Consider the option 1 of sharing the room with 4 people if you want the cheapest price available.

    14. Why are there 2 package options with different prices?

    • Some people want to share a room with only one other person (double occupancy) instead of 3 others (quadruple occupancy). So they have to split the price of the hotel room per night in 2 instead of 4. This means they pay a little bit more for their hotel room stay. This is why option 2 (double occupancy) is offered at a higher price.

    15. I don't know who to share my room with or we don't have exactly 4 people to share the room together. What should we do?

    • Don't worry. You won't have to fill anything in the comment box of the cart page during your purchase. Once we arrange the list of rooms and occupancy, we'll pair you with people who are also looking to be paired in and share the groups formed with you.
    • Note that the group formation may change in case of cancellation and other factors on the day of (e.g: gender distribution). We’d ask for your collaboration when moving people around and adding/removing people out of your rooms. It is very possible that you will be sharing a room with people you don't know but keep in mind that this could be a great opportunity to make friends insha Allah!
